Archives & Architecture

Galvin Library invites you to Archives & Architecture: A Conversation on Using Archives for Architecture and Planning Education on Wednesday, May 11 from 3-4:30 p.m. in the University Archives & Special Collections reading room on the first floor of Galvin Library. This roundtable conversation is hosted by Illinois Tech College of Architecture alumnus Robert Gordon (1963, M.S. 1967), along with Paul V. Galvin Library’s University Archives & Special Collections.

Topics of discussion will include:

  • What can you expect from an architecture and planning archive?
  • Why contribute your own work to an archive?
  • Who uses archives, and for what?
  • What is gained by digitizing archival materials, especially graphic content in the fields of architecture and urban design?

If you’ve ever used archives for your studies or professional work, or are simply interested in learning more, please join us. Light refreshments will be provided. Contact archives@iit.edu or click here for more information.
