A group of students have joined Professor Frank Flury for this Design/Build studio in Jabung, Indonesia. In Spring 2015, the students designed a prototype rural hospital and over the summer they are in the Magetang district of Indonesia where they are collaborating with local villagers to build the clinic in the Central Java Province.
Students have been exposed to fundraising, international building practice, teamwork, complex communication situations, budget constraints and working within a clearly defined and rigorous time schedule. The structure could be adopted and potentially rebuilt in other communities by local residents.
Students have had time for exploring the region with trips to the local market and restaurants.
