Henderson named Dumbarton Oaks Fellow

Professor Ron Henderson has been nominated and appointed by the Board of Trustees of Harvard University as a Senior Fellow in Garden and Landscape Studies at Dumbarton Oaks in Washington, D.C. for a three-year tenure from 2016-2019.

The Dumbarton Oaks Program in Garden and Landscape Studies was established in 1972 to support advanced scholarship in garden history and landscape architecture, encompassing the study of culturally and artistically significant landscapes around the world from ancient times to the present. The program seeks to deepen the understanding of landscape and gardens as a field of knowledge and research and as a practice carried out by landscape architects, landscape artists, and gardeners. The six appointed Senior Fellows advise the Director of Dumbarton Oaks on the Garden and Landscape Studies Program.

Ron Henderson, FASLA, is Professor and Director of the Landscape Architecture Program at Illinois Institute of Technology and founding principal of L+A Landscape Architecture in Newport, Rhode Island.
