MIES VAN DER ROHE BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

This much-anticipated annual party in honor of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe’s 132nd birthday, sponsored by the Mies van der Rohe Society, will feature an evening celebrating the pedagogy of Mies and a panel discussion featuring:

  • -David Hovey Sr., FAIA (B.ARCH '67, M.S. ARCH '71)
  • -Ronald A. Krueck, FAIA (B.ARCH '70)
  • -Jong Soung Kimm, FAIA, FKIA (B.ARCH '61, M.S. ARCH '64)

This exhibition—curated by Mies’ students Arthur Takeuchi (B.ARCH '54, M.S. ARCH '59), San Utsunomiya (B.ARCH '54), and their student Kristin Jones (B.ARCH '95, Ph.D. ARCH '16)—celebrates the legacy of Mies and provides for the preservation of these original drawings, collages, and models.

ADMISSION:
$50 per person or $125 per person includes ticket plus one year membership to the Mies van der Rohe Society at the Concrete ($100) level. Illinois Tech students are admitted to the program at no
cost.
