Assistant / Associate Professors, Multiple Positions:
The College of Architecture at the Illinois Institute of Technology invites applications for full-time, tenure-track or tenured appointments to begin August 2017 in the following areas:
Assistant or Associate Professor, Landscape Architecture + Urbanism
All areas of expertise are welcome. Candidates should demonstrate leadership in topics central to contemporary landscape architecture and urbanism. A record of excellence in practice and scholarship is expected. Candidates are required to have a professional degree in Landscape Architecture. The successful candidate will be an active participant in, and provide academic service to, the Master of Landscape Architecture Program.
Assistant or Associate Professor, Architectural History and Theory
Open to all periods and areas of expertise. Candidates should demonstrate an engaged relationship to contemporary design education. Expertise in the history of urbanism and/or landscape architecture is especially welcome. A record of scholarly excellence is expected. Ph.D. must be completed by August 2017.
Assistant or Associate Professor, Building Technology
Expertise in environmental technologies and building science is expected. Candidates should demonstrate their ability to integrate technology, structural systems, and design, within re-thinking the urban environment. A record of excellence in practice and scholarship is expected. Candidates should have a minimum of a Master's degree in architecture or building technology.
Assistant or Associate Studio Professor
The College of Architecture at the Illinois Institute of Technology invites applications for a full-time Studio Professor appointment to begin August 2017. Candidates should be recognized as outstanding practitioners who have experience in translating practice into teaching. Candidates should be prepared to teach a design studio in the Bachelor of Architecture, Master of Architecture or Master of Landscape Architecture program and a lecture/seminar course in their area of expertise. Candidates should have a minimum of a Master's degree in their area of expertise and strong evidence of professional recognition.
In addition to their areas of specialization, all candidates should demonstrate an ability to contribute to the intellectual life of a studio-focused architecture school. The positions entail teaching for all of the College’s degree programs, ranging from undergraduate to Ph.D. We will expect active participation in the College and the University through student advising, design reviews, committee service, curricular development, and contributions to College publications and events.
