SALON WITH NELLY AGASSI

Please join us at our new program series designed for Chicago Architectural Club members and guests presenting ideas and work in progress on architecture, design, and art.

These informal presentations and discussions provide opportunities for sharing thoughts, fostering projects, networks, and resources.

PRESENTER

Born in Tel Aviv, Nelly Agassi lives and works in Chicago. Her art superimposes performance, installation, video, textile and paper. Her artwork addresses the idea of the human body in relation to architecture and of its intimacy within the public space. Her work engages both, personal and emotional as well as universal concepts.

Agassi is a 2001 graduate of the MA program of combined media in Chelsea Collage of Art and Design, London, UK. She has received the Nathan Gonesdiener Foundation for Israeli Art Prize and the TelAviv Museum of Art award for artistic encouragement from the Israel Ministry of Science, Culture and Sport. Agassi has shown her work extensively throughout the world -in sites such as the Israel Museum, Ooritto Rovesscio, Milan Triennial, Poor Farm, USA, and at the Tate Modern in London.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR PRESENTERS

Please submit short written essay of 300 words along with media samples that demonstrate the subject.

As a framework for the evening discussion, presentations should be about 25 minutes in duration.

As our Salon series focuses on work in progress, presentation subjects rely on raising questions and welcoming dialogue.

In order to encourage memberships, presenters must be member of the CAC.
