AIA Chicago Small Project Awards

CoA Faculty were honored in the AIA Chicago Small Project Awards announced today.

Vladimir Radutny Architects was honored for its work on the Ranquist Development Group Offices. The task for the architect was to create a new office within an existing single-story masonry shell. The strategy employed emphasized the materiality of the simple box's structure and its component parts.

Dirk Denison Architects was honored for Cast Aluminum Table. Juror's delighted over this project that functions as both an art piece and as a functional table with a seating capacity up to 12. The resin top of this elongated dining table is balanced with the support of three identical cast aluminum legs , whose 'tenuous aesthetic' responds to the adjacent cable structure supporting the cantilevered house.
