Join IIT College of Architecture on Wednesday, March 23, for a book launch, panel discussion, and exhibition launching the latest cycle of the Mies Crown Hall Americas Prize (MCHAP), beginning at 3:30 p.m. at S. R. Crown Hall.

To celebrate both the exhibit and the book, MCHAP The Americas 2: Territories and Expeditions, a panel discussion will take place from 3:30–5 p.m. Book editor Florencia Rodriguez and designer Edwin van Gelder will be joined by MCHAP Cycle Two Jury Chair Stan Allen; MCHAP Cycle Four Jury Chair Sandra Barclay; MCHAP Director and IIT Architecture Professor Dirk Denison; and Vedran Mimica, IIT Architecture professor and director of the college’s M.S.ARCH. program.

A student and alumni reception will follow from 5:30–7 p.m. The evening’s festivities include the unveiling of the MCHAP exhibit, which highlights the biennial award program that recognizes excellence in built works of architecture in the Americas. The 280-plus submissions from the MCHAP’s new cycle will be on view inside of Crown Hall. Members of the current MCHAP jury will be in attendance and will offer brief remarks on the prize.
