Jorge Francisco Liernur, Professor at Torcuato Di Tella University, Buenos Aires, delivered a lecture, "Contemporary Metropolitan Challenges and New Architecture in Latin America: Notes from a Historical Perspective" on Wed, Feb. 18 at 6:00 p.m. in S. R. Crown Hall.
Jorge Francisco Liernur is an Argentinian architecture and art historian renowned for his studies on contemporary architecture in Argentina and Latin America. He is a member of the inaugural Mies Crown Hall Americas Prize Jury. He currently directs the Center for the Studies of Contemporary Architecture at the Torcuato Di Tella University in Buenos Aires, where he also teaches Modernity and Urban Culture. He received his architectural degree from the Universidad de Buenos Aires. Jorge is also an associate of the PhD in the School of Architecture at the Catholic University of Chile, associate curator of the Museum of Modern Art, and researcher of Argentina’s National Council for Scientific and Technical Investigation, Buenos Aires.
