John Ronan named ACSA Distinguished Professor

Each year, ACSA honors architectural educators for exemplary work in areas such as building design, community collaborations, scholarship, and service. Award winners inspire and challenge students, contribute to the profession’s knowledge base, and extend their work beyond the borders of academy into practice and the public sector.

Professor John Ronan is a recipient of the 2017-18 ACSA Architectural Education Award of Distinguished Professor.

Ronan’s architectural practice has had a major impact on both the Chicago community and the profession nationally. In recognition of his contributions, in 2014, he was elevated to a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects, the highest honor given for “exceptional work and contributions to architecture and society.” Judging is rigorous and only 3% of AIA members have received this award.
