Ph.D. Program’s Sixth Symposium is Announced as its Fifth Prometheus Journal is Released

From November 19–20, 2021, the College of Architecture’s Ph.D. program will host its sixth annual International Graduate Student Symposium. Titled Metropolis in Crisis: Tall Buildings and Urban Environments, the symposium draws from the experiences of the COVID-19 pandemic to examine the effect civic, health, and, natural crises have on cities, and how architects can be better prepared for future crises.

In anticipation of the symposium, the steering committee—Ph.D. students Amjad Alkoud, Piyush Khairnar, and Lijian Ma— invites individuals to submit research papers. Selected papers will be presented and featured in the sixth issue of Prometheus, the journal of the Ph.D. program at the College of Architecture. Submission guidelines, and a symposium program, can be found at the IGSS website.

Additionally, issues of Prometheus, Issue 5—generated from the proceedings of last year’s symposium—are now available both online and in print. Individuals can purchase print editions through the Illinois Institute of Technology Bookstore, while a digital version can be accessed here.
