Morgenstern Chair Lecture: Jose Luis Ambrosi and Loreta Castro Reguera
Illinois Institute of Technology’s College of Architecture will welcome this year's Morgenstern Visiting Chairs in Architecture, Jose Luis Ambrosi and Loreta Castro Reguera, to give the 2025 Morgenstern Chair Lecture on November 5, 2025, beginning at 5 p.m.
Ambrosi and Reguera are principals of the Mexico City-based practice Taller Capital who were the Mies Crown Hall Americas Prize Emerge winner in 2022. They are also two-time Holcim Prize winners and have been identified by both Architectural Review and the Architectural League of New York as emerging voices.
Taller Capital's project Colosio Embankment Dam earned the duo their MCHAP acclaim. The project sits in the border town of Nogales, Mexico. Ambrosi and Reguera were originally charged with designing a park next to a body of water, but the project grew to include the renovation of a 60-year-old earthen dam.
Established by a gift from the Victor A. Morgenstern Family Foundation, the Morgenstern Visiting Chair in Architecture is an architectural practitioner of the highest caliber who has a substantial body of work that is widely and recently recognized in the field.
