IIT Architecture offers two introductory courses for those interested in exploring our undergraduate and graduate programs.
Experiment in Architecture is a two-week workshop designed to introduce high school students to the profession of architecture. The program will provide students with a comprehensive overview of the study and practice of architecture, and will help students make an informed decision about pursuing an education and career in architecture.
Exploration in Architecture is a one-week studio-based program designed to introduce middle school students to architecture and the associated professions. Students will be introduced to the profession through firm visits, field trips and exercises based in studio practice.
IntroArch is designed to prepare students for the graduate architectural studio sequence at IIT. It is highly recommended for students embarking on the 3-year professional Master of Architecture and Master of Landscape Architecture degrees (those without prior architectural studio experience) and is recommended for students embarking on the 2-year M.Arch with Advanced Standing (especially those who have not recently completed their UG studies). The course is also open to those not currently seeking a degree at IIT but are interested in pursuing architectural graduate studies in the future.
