IIT Architecture is pleased to announce the receipt of the First Place Chicago Award in Architecture by three M.Arch students, Junghyo Woo, Keigo Yamazaki, and Graham Bowman.
The Chicago Award in Architecture is a juried competition of student projects held by the American Institute of Architects. Recognition is granted for First, Second, and Third Place and for Honorable Mentions. The project awarded First Place is honored with the Benn-Johnck Award.
The winning project, The Bridgeport Innovation Center, is a 113,000 SF co-making and co-working facility planned for the Bridgeport neighborhood of Chicago. The building seeks to build a community of creators within Bridgeport and the greater Chicago area by providing a platform for making and innovating.
