The future of cities and major urban projects will be at the heart of Antonella Contin’s 2024 Peter Schaudt Lecture in Landscape Architecture beginning at 5 p.m. on October 25 in S. R. Crown Hall’s Center Core.
Contin, a research associate in the Department of Architecture and Urban Studies at the School of Architecture, Urban Planning, and Construction Engineering at Politecnico di Milano, focuses her research on metropolitan architecture projects, including sustainable urban growth models and smart sensitive cities.
In addition to teaching, Contin coordinates MSLab and the MetroHUB Centre on Metropolitan Dynamics, a collaboration with the United Nations’ UN-Habitat. Contin is the group coordinator for several European Union-funded research projects that include TEllme , Contested Territories, and Smart, which focus on smart specialization strategies. She also lectures at various international universities.
