IIT College of Architecture welcomes Marlon Blackwell, principal of Marlon Blackwell Architects (MBA) and a fellow of the American Institute of Architects, for a lecture on Wednesday, October 5, at S. R. Crown Hall as part of the fall lecture series.
Blackwell is a practicing architect in Fayetteville, Arkansas, and a faculty member at the University of Arkansas. With awards from across the world, including the 2020 AIA Gold Medal, Blackwell’s impact on the theory and practice of architecture is showcased through his practice, MBA, which has received more than 160 design awards.
MBA’s projects include houses, clinics, school buildings, and more. Many are in the southern United States and are reflected in An Architecture of the Ozarks: The Works of Marlon Blackwell, which focuses on Blackwell’s early architectural work in and around the Ozark Mountains. A new monograph, Radical Practice, is set for publication this year.
The lecture is open to the public and will begin at 5 p.m.
