North - South: Modern Architecture and the Mediterranean, Ph.D. Director and Professor Michelangelo Sabatino’s co-edited volume, with Jean-Francois Lejeune (University of Miami) has been published in an Italian translation by ListLab: Laboratorio Internazionale Editoriale (Trento).
The book was originally published in English by Routledge (London), as Modern Architecture and the Mediterranean: Vernacular Dialogues and Contested Identities.
Among the various buildings and sites discussed in this book - from Spain and Algiers to Greece and Turkey - are the Greek islands, Ibiza and Capri; and it is on this island in the Bay of Naples where we find the Casa Malaparte that became a modern and contemporary architectural icon, a symbol of the dialogue between building and landscape, tradition and modernity, architecture and literature.
