On October 21 the College of Architecture hosted a conversation with renowned architect and MacArthur Fellow Jeanne Gang, Studio Gang partner and a IIT Architecture alumna Juliane Wolf, and College of Architecture Dean Reed Kroloff.

An Illinois native, Gang has become one of Chicago’s leading architects since she founded Studio Gang in 1997. Her firm has gone on to change the city’s skyline with works such as Aqua Tower and the anticipated, soon-to-open Vista Tower, Chicago’s third-tallest building at 1,198 feet. The Studio is now working around the world, with a portfolio that includes major cultural and civic projects such as the American Museum of Natural History in New York and the new United States Embassy in Brasilia. A monograph of the studio’s work, "Studio Gang: Architecture," was released by Phaidon this spring.

Currently, Gang is a professor in practice at the Harvard Graduate School of Design and has held teaching and lecturing positions at Yale University, Princeton University, and Illinois Institute of Technology. In 2019 Gang was dubbed one of the world’s most influential people by TIME magazine.
