IIT College of Architecture welcomed Rozana Montiel, the 2023 Victor A. Morgenstern Family Visiting Chair in Architecture, for a lecture on April 5.
The world-renowned Mexican architect’s self-titled firm, Rozana Montiel | EstudiO de Arquitectura, won the College of Architecture’s 2018 MCHAP.emerge award with the project Common Unity, a public space rehabilitation project in Mexico City. Montiel’s practice specializes in architectural design, artistic reconceptualizations of space, and the public domain.
Montiel’s acclimations stretch worldwide, most recently being awarded the 2022 International Prize for Women Architects, organized by the Association for Research on Cities and Housing, the Pavillon de l’Arsenal, and the City of Paris.
